INVESTMENT AND RETIREMENT PLANNING
Wealth preservation and creation should be the ultimate objective of every investor. In so doing, investors will be able to ensure that they can afford to retire comfortably, and potentially leave a legacy to future generations. NFB can provide assistance and advice in this process by:
- reviewing and analysing clients’ existing portfolios,
- ensuring that the risk implicit in the portfolio is appropriate given the clients' needs and circumstances,
- providing advice on the level and structure of contributions to the portfolio,
- ensuring that the blend between discretionary and non-discretionary investments is optimally balanced, and
- ensuring that the investment plan takes factors like liquidity and tax into account.

To maximise the efficiency of any investment strategy, tax needs to be taken into account. Different investment products have different tax profiles and NFB can provide expert advice in ensuring that the most appropriate investments are put in place. This advice is vital in ensuring that after tax returns are maximised while the appropriate level of liquidity is maintained in the portfolio. Simultaneously NFB will provide advice on the most appropriate portfolio structure taking into account potential future cash flows.
ESTATE PLANNING
In summary an estate plan seeks to minimise estate duty and maximise the wealth of the family estate. The use of wills and trusts are an essential part of estate planning. NFB’s estate planning division can provide comprehensive comment and advice on:

- how changes in legislation have affected the client’s estate plan and

NFB is able to provide in depth analysis of a clients existing risk provisions, as well as detailed analysis of their needs in terms of life, dreaded disease cover, and income protection. Based on this analysis NFB will be able to provide the client with independent advice on the appropriate levels of cover and costing structures given the clients' needs. NFB’s independence allows the selection of cost effective products that best suit the clients’ unique needs.
BUSINESS ASSURANCE
Ensuring that one’s business has the correct level and type of insurance in place on its owners and employees is vitally important. NFB can provide expert advice on putting adequate levels of correctly priced keyman insurance in place. Similarly NFB can provide expertise in buy and sell agreements and policies. Being independent, NFB is able to select the most appropriate and cost effective solutions available to the client.

NFB has set up an innovative and dynamic Economic Research Unit dedicated to the research and provision of essential qualitative and quantitative technical information on the products available and their place in the market in support of NFB's Financial Advisory Team. NFB Asset Management is a discrete business owned by NFB Gauteng and NFB Eastern Cape.
